1. What is the basic transportation system at the Arena and the region now? Is it adequate?
2. What additional load will be added to the system by Xanadu?
3. What are the current transportation plans for Xanadu? Do you think transportation is going to be a big mess when the load from Xanadu is added to the region? Why or why not?
4. Regardless, how would you improve the situation: what transportation modes would you utilize, where would you put them, who should pay for them? Finally, how much would your plan help, environmentally and otherwise?
5. From a sustainability perspective, is there any out-of-the-box, but not necessarily unfeasible transportation approaches that are not being used, but have potential for Xanadu, as well as the region?
Your team must submit your detailed answers to the CEO. If they are satisfactory, your team will get the nod and the thumbs up to proceed.
Your team will then formulate three recommendations for the creation of Xanau and present them at the public meeting.
Remember:
- Your team will have about 15 minutes of the 30 allotted for your construction company.
- Your presentation should address the anticipated objections in their area about Xanadu, using the information from the questions you answered.
- Your presentation will be made to the mighty Mills Corporation, the Meadowlands Commission, and supporters and opponents of the project.
- A question and answer session will follow the presentations.
The construction company judged to do the best job will win the subcontractor business and go home with enough money to burn a hole in their pockets.
