Outraged citizens in the neighborhood have formed
the Geriatric Asbestos Survivors' Partnership, (GASP).
Blu "Geezer" Collar, president of GASP, and the board
of trustees are actively discussing a class action suit.
When Johns Ramville was a going concern it had
sold substantial amounts of asbestos insulation for pipes in the
local school. The current Superintendent of Schools in Ramford,
Stan Dersized-Tester, is worried not only about possible exposure
to students, even though the pipes are in basement areas, but also
that plumbers will not come in for needed repairs to the heating
system.
Netter, Trawler, Collar, and Tester have contacted
Congresswoman Flora Savers for help. She set up a meeting
in the chambers of Judge Judy Yaskin for her advice on pursuing
a class action lawsuit. Yaskin recommends the law firm of
Plea, Bargain, and Bale, and further suggests that the lawyers
will need to hire an environmental consulting firm to gather evidence
and advise them during the proceedings.
