Investigates questions concerning the Economic/Legal Issues surrounding remediation of Ozone in the environment.

Guiding Questions

1. What is Ozone?  What is difference between ozone present high in the atmosphere and ozone present at ground level?  Why is one considered “good Ozone” and the other “bad Ozone”?

2. What are causes of Ozone pollution? What are the point-source and non point-source contributors to Ozone pollution for the city of Ramford?

3. What is the relationship between the Ozone values at the four sampling stations in the city of Ramford and attendance and asthma at the 10 schools in the Board of Education study?

4. What are the options and related cost of ozone mitigation? Discuss the cost-benefit analysis of each option.  What are the reasons for cost? In general, what is the best option? 

5. What do you think is the best option to control Ozone pollution in the city of Ramford and why? How do these costs compare to the benefits?  What are the reasons for the relative costs?  Who is financially responsible and how will this be enforced?

6. What is the potential economic impact on the different stakeholders in Ramford?  What is the relative impact for each stakeholder? What are the priorities based on relative impact?
