Investigates questions concerning the Occurrence, Fate and Transport of PCBs.

Guiding Questions

1. What are PCBs? What are the sources? What are the uses?

2. Where are the high concentrations of PCBs found in the Ramford River? Are there changes in concentrations with time?

3. What are the known concentrations of PCBs in air, water, river sediments, and other media (i.e. humans and animals)?

4. How do PCBs interact with the environment (i.e. solubility, volatility)?

5. What is the persistence of PCB’s in the environment?

6. How are PCBs transported in the environment?

Each team will be responsible for:

A. Preparing written answers to the guiding questions listed above;

B. One team member will synthesize the information into the three minute argument that will support your consulting company’s position in the debate;

C. One team member will synthesize the information into the two minute rebuttal that will support your consulting company’s position in the debate.
