Flora Savers

Flora Savers, Executive Director of Save Our Shores, a coalition of environmental organizations concerned with Ramford River and coastal issues, is running against Mr. Byers for State Congress in November. George Sweetwater, Chief of the Mahwah Branch of the Renapi Native American Tribe, and Gill Netter, President of the Commercial and Recreational Fisheries Association, are meeting about dredging the Ramford River to remove the PCB contaminated sediments. George is concerned because many members of his tribe consume large quantities of fish from the Ramford River. The multi-million dollar fishing interests in Gill’s association are anxious to take measures that will reduce the levels of PCBs in fish so the ban on commercial fishing will be removed. Flora, George, Gill and their supporters in Ramford County are in favor of the proposed dredging project.
