Technology

High resoultion GOES GVAR satellite images are accessed from Ramapo's ground station via our web site. ENVI software is used to enhance the images in the classroom.

(RST)2 students ...

... track satellites and capture images of Earth

... enhance and interpret the images

... collect and analyze meteorological data at their schools

... share information with others schools using the Internet

... hypothesize and make predictions for their school community

... use the technology and (RST)2 approach in studying other aspects of earth science as well as geography and social studies

... engage in problem solving curriculum projects

Teacher participants

Technology and content training is given for teachers during three weeks in the summer at Ramapo College of New Jersey, Middlesex County College, and Atlantic Cape Community College.

Graduate credit for (RST)2 participation is available through Ramapo College of New Jersey.
